The Unite Union has announced several three day strikes by British airways Cabin Crew. Staff will walkout for three days from 20th March and four days from 27th March. BA have said there is not a “shred of justification” for the strike and is extremely disappointed. The UK's largest airline had turned down a "remarkable" deal according to Len McCluskey, the assistant general secretary, which would have met "all of BA's criteria." However, a "consultative ballot" will be held just one day before the first strike date - the airlines offer will be put to members and could avert industrial action. Management seemed to "want a dispute" and had "enflamed the situation" in an attempt to "destroy trade unionism" the unions man said. Easter travelers will not be hit, the unions seemingly learning from past strikes of the negative publicity. More soon
