Motorist's in Manor Park are paying London's highest insurance premiums, according to new research. Analysis carried out on one million car insurance quotes over the last 12 months showed the NE12 postcode was also the ninth priciest nationwide. Scottish drivers pay the lowest car insurance premiums according to the research from moneysupermarket.com, while those in Birmingham and Manchester are hit with the highest insurance costs. North London drivers were quoted £808.58 per annum, the area has been plagued by car crime for years. Unsurprisingly, it's all to do with risk factors and claims histories. Urban hotspots densely populated, therefore their crime rates will naturally be higher than a rural area of Scotland. Most insurers will factor in the area you live and rate the premium you pay on risk, therefore if you live in a high risk area you will have to pay the price. Steve Sweeney, moneysupermarket.com's head of motor insurance, says that if premium costs were evaluated on a case by case basis then many motorists would receive quotes at a better price to match their individual circumstances.
