London's online newspaper hits 100,000 in 5 months

London Daily News the online newspaper launched on 2 April 2008 has now hit the 100,000 unique users daily figure, according to figures released today.

The London Daily News editor-in-chief commented “we have managed to create a fully functioning newspaper from scratch in months that is now read by over 100,000 people daily in London and around the world. Our next target is for 1 million readers within the 6 months which we know we can achieve”

The recent National Readership Survey showed a dip of 16 per cent for the Evening Standard with a circulation of 623,000, thelondonpaper 963,000 and London Lite with over a million.

“We plan to take on the London media in an innovative and effective approach so that London begins to read the truth and know the real story behind the headlines” John Kaponi Editor-in-chief of the London Daily News.

The London Daily News has achieved over 100,000 unique users per day from its launch on April 2 2008. With a small team of dedicated journalists and contributors and is now regularly used by other media as a reliable source of news for London.

IPM Media are now looking at launching London Daily News broadcasts daily on the internet for a round up of news and events in the capital.
