London's Polish community have been warned to look out for several contaminated sausage products.

The Food Standards Agency are ordering a nationwide withdrawal of Home Black Pudding Sausage and Grill Black Pudding Sausage, made by Sokolów, after batches were found to have dangerously high levels of Listeria, which can cause serious illness and even death.

Several Enfield firms, Food Art UK Ltd, Dimark Ltd and Gima UK Ltd distribute the products.

The FSA says the recall is a “precautionary measure” after more batches of the sausage product were found to be contaminated than first thought.

Back in Poland, authorities have already launched an investigation into Sokolów and producers have been ordered to carry out deep cleaning as well as conduct tests on its food.

The FSA say if any of the food is found, it is to be withdrawn immediately.
