It's not normal for this newspaper to be publishing articles in defence of celebrities, but Peter Andre deserves the full support of all those people who respect the sanctity of the family, the ability to raise a child "properly", i.e. knowing that mum or dad will be around, and respect for the feelings of others.
Kay Burley despite an attempt today to claim she is "Team Pete", opened up old wounds, with an interview with Dwight Yorke, who accused Andre unfairly of simply adopting his son Harvey because it was "part of the baggage". In future what Burley should do, and other Sky News presenters are guilty of this, is to regard their "guest" as human. Any person who is asked "how do you feel if your ex-wife's new partner tries to adopt your kids" will go ballistic.
Sky News have rightly been recognised as the first news team to break stories, and cover major disasters, but they have yet to learn the techniques adopted in the US of "soft interviews", there was no need to grill Andre, he has done nothing wrong, and is simply trying to pick up the pieces of his life and look after his children.
Whatever Burley says now is totally meaningless, her approach was as if she was interrogating a politician, which Andre clearly is not. Wrong approach, damaging to Burley, and above all very hurtful to a good man Peter Andre.
