News Desk Rod Liddle, the former editor of the "Today" programme, the BBC's flagship radio news radio show, has branded African Caribbean youth responsible for the majority of violent crime in London, and in return London has benefitted from "goat curry". Liddle's remarks on a blog recorded on The Spectator website, followed the conviction of the so called "grime rap" duo, who attempted to murder a pregnant 15 year old girl. Liddle described the pair as "human filth" and said:
"It could be an anomaly, of course. But it isn’t. The overwhelming majority of street crime, knife crime, gun crime, robbery and crimes of sexual violence in London is carried out by young men from the African-Caribbean community. Of course, in return, we have rap music, goat curry and a far more vibrant and diverse understanding of cultures which were once alien to us. For which, many thanks."
