More than 105 firefighters were deployed in an attempt to extinguish a fire at industrial units in Shepherds Bush. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) officials confirmed that the building has been damaged but there no reported injuries.
More than 100 people have been evacuated from the building and Wood Lane has been sealed off.
Officers from London Fire Brigade were called at the scene this morning in order to extinguish a fire, which started at 09.35 am at a range of industrial units in Shepherds Bush. Fire guards are working in the area as the fire is not under control yet. A spokesman for the LFB said that they are expected to remain at the scene the whole day until the fire is under control.
A safety cordon has been put up around Wood Lane. “Because of the nature of the fire, we have provided cordons to keep the area safe”, Station manager Rod Horton told The London Daily News.
A Transport for London has confirmed that as a consequence of the blaze, the A40 has been closed “in both directions between Savoy Circus and Marylebone Road, and the A3220 West Cross Route is closes both ways between the A40 Northern Roundabout and the Holland Park Roundabout”. Mr. Horton adds that they “still don’t know when the roads will be reopened”.
According to a petrol station worker, more than 100 people have been evacuated from the building. Meanwhile, the LFB spokesman said that they are not sure about how many people had to leave the building. The cause of the fire has not been known yet.
