News Desk - 8am

Reports that go against the national trend, are emerging that Labour have successfully won control of Enfield Council in the local elections, giving some reasons to celebrate for the Labour party, in an otherwise lacklustre night.

Edmonton Labour MP Andy Love was re-elected fighting off an "unconventional" campaign by the Conservative Andrew Charalambous, but the Tories won Enfield North with London Daily News backed Nick De Bois, and David Burrowes in Enfield Southgate also winning.

The Conservatives in Enfield have already started the post-mortem as to why Labour won overall control of the council.

The London Daily News will publish official results when they are ready.
