A sadistic foreign rapist who subjected three women to horrendous ordeals at knifepoint has been given a life sentence. Vladimir Pokorny, 36, of Myatts Field South, Stockwell, was found guilty of eight counts of rape, three counts of false imprisonment and three counts of robbery at the Inner London Crown Court yesterday Porkony, originally from the Czech Republic, will serve a minimum of eight years for all offences. Sapphire Unit Pokorny hunted for his victims at a youth hostel in West London posing as a landlord to vulnerable immigrant women. There he met two Czech women, aged 20 and 23, at a hostel for Czech nationals in West London. He told them he had a room to rent and made an arrangement for them to view it. Once at the address in Evesham Walk, Brixton, he forced both victims at knifepoint to undress. Then over several hours assaulted and raped them. He then stole cash and their I before releasing them. The distraught women fled the UK and immediately told Czech police who alerted cops in Lambeth. Second vicious attack
Later in December a 20-year-old Slovakian women was lured by Pokorny from the same hostel, to the Brixton property on the pretext of viewing a room.
Once there, she tried to leave but was grabbed by the hair and thrown down a set of stairs. He threatened to kill her and repeatedly punched her about the head. She was then forced to undress and then raped. Before she was allowed to leave, she robbed her. Sapphire Unit
On being released she reported the attack and the specialist Sapphire Unit, who investigates sex crimes, swung into action, immediately spotting the similarities and swooped on the Pokorny's address. Pokorny has previous convictions in the Czech Republic. His exact date of entry into the UK is not known but cops fear these offences are not the only ones he has committed. Investigators do know that he was here in March 2007. The two brave Czech victims returned to the UK to give evidence against their attacker. DI Keith Richardson, from Lambeth Sapphire Unit, said: "The effect of these offences has left each victim devastated. Their courage and bravery throughout the last 12 months has resulted in the conviction of a predatory rapist who represented a continuing threat to women in the UK and Czech Republic."
