A protester who pelted the Chairwoman of the Conservative Party Baroness Warsi with eggs for being “unislamic” has been jailed. Gavin Reid, of Green Close, Luton, was sentenced to six weeks imprisonment by City of Westminster magistrates’ court for breaching the Public Order Act. Magistrate Elizabeth Roscoe said that his actions went beyond "legitimate political protest". The woman was surrounded by men, including Reid, who shouted at the dazzled woman calling her a “supporter of murderers”. The Magistrate said he was threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour". The Tory peer was on a walkabout in Luton in support of their candidate Nigel Huddleston last November when she was attacked. Mr Huddleston failed to win the seat from Labour in May’s General Election. Warsi has since become Britain's first Muslim women in cabinet as Minister without Portfolio
