On the day three years ago fifty six Londoners were killed caused by bombs on the London transport system a new government risk assessment has concluded that companies managing some of the "critical" elements of the nation’s infrastructure have according to the FT "inadequately" vetted individuals who may be linked to terrorist groups.

Nine key industry sectors have been singled out by the government that are critical to the nation including telecommunications, energy and finance that may be sabotage by insiders.

The Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure which was formed last year and part of MI5 is now advising companies to focus efforts on the parts of their organisations where the risks for the disruption are concentrated.

The emphasis will be according to the report on jobs and tasks and not on individuals "where most vulnerability exists".

Speaking to the FT Beverli Rhodes a security consultant and founder of the 7/7 victims group hoped that emphsis was given to human life and not to economic assets.

DNA to identify Spain air tragedy victims
DNA tests will be needed to identify many of the 153 people killed in a Spanish plane crash, officials say. Authorities say many victims were so badly burned that fingerprint and other identification will be impossible. The crash of flight JK5022 at Madrid's Barajas Airport on Wednesday is Spain's worst air disaster in decades.
