Huge gathering expected for London-African Summit

A huge gathering of London's African community is expected tonight as ambassadors, High Commissioners, Princes and Princesses descend on North East London for a major health summit.

Immigration, amnesty, work issues and health developments on the African continent will be discussed at the Prestigious Golden Palace on Edmonton's Harbet Road.

Organisers, the Ghanaian Welfare Association have billed the event as a "fantastic opportunity for the African community to meet their representatives here in the UK" and "a chance for discuss their hopes for the future in the UK."

Voice for Africa Radio and The Voice newspaper are also supporting the event.

Those in attendance include Shadow Justice Minister David Burrowes MP and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Edmonton Andrew Charalambous.

Representatives from Niger, Malawi, Madagascar Mozambique and Sierra Leone are expected amongst countless other dignitaries and religious members.

Ms Alice Okuko and Dr. Amir Saleem, founders and CEO's of Women of Africa, and Prof Dartey, a Consultant Surgeon at Harley Street will be speaking.
