Several radical Islamic preachers are to speak at the University College of London's Ramadan conference this month.

The Islamic Society is hosting the Dunya Deception at the prestigious University which it says will give "every Muslim in the UK a special chance to realise the satanic traps around them".

Speakers include Jalal Ibn Sa'eed, Zahir Mahmoud and Uthman Lateef, who have all made controversial comments about Israel and martyrdom. The Board of Deputies and Union of Jewish Students have called on the university to stop the event and impose measures to prevent future incidents.

Earlier this year government ministers revealed that Special Branch officers were monitoring British Universities, but would not say if Islamic societies were being spied on. The London Daily News understands that there are "funding queries" over several Islamic societies at various high profile London Higher Education institutions.

"They are freedom fighters"

Last year, Zahir Mahmoud was recorded telling a Viva Palestina reunion in Birmingham:

"Hamas are not terrorists. They're freedom fighters, they're defending their country."

Jalal Ibn Sa'eed was recorded saying:

"Most of us are guilty… We selfishly live like the Jews who only care about themselves and call the rest the goyim, those who are damned, those who are enslaved to them."

Mark Gardner, of the Jewish Community Security Trust said:

"CST is concerned that yet another campus event appears likely to promote Islamist perspectives, including mixed messages about terrorism and the potential for anti-Jewish remarks."
