Detectives from Haringey are appealing for witnesses and information following a stabbing in Hornsey

Police were alerted at 19.27hrs on Sunday 28 February re: an altercation at High Street N8, near the junction with Campsbourne Road

Officers attended and found an 18 year-old man suffering a stab injury to the chest.

Officers performed CPR on the victim until the arrival of the ambulance service.

London Ambulance Service took the victim to an east London hospital where his condition is understood to be critical but stable.

At this early stage it is understood that he was injured during a fight in the vicinity.

We retain an open mind re the circumstances of the incident.

DS Mark Lucas of Haringey CID said:

"At the time of the incident many local shops were still open and there will have been people coming and going. I urge anyone with any information about this incident to make contact with police or Crimestoppers."

Three men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed to return to a north London police station on 26 April, pending further inquiries
