The Prime Minister confirmed high-speed train links between London and the north will still go ahead despite pressures from other Conservative ministers opposing the idea.

According to Mr. Cameron this new high-speed route will connect London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds with trains that would run with 250mph would definitely reduce the North- South divide.

The PM outlined the whole concept of the plan and gave detailed backup to the plan however a couple of members of the Cabinet opposed this idea and at least one member has threatened to vote against this idea because they claimed it would spoil some of England’s finest countryside’s.

However the Prime minister would not be swayed by this outcome and said: “ I have seen the map. This is incredibly difficult when high-speed rail is thundering through your constituency, because you, yourself, may not see the benefit from it”.

Mr. Cameron added: “The whole point about high-speed rail is that its got to go fast. So it’s going to stop in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, with one or two extra stops along the way- no more”. My view is that all the models for transport infrastructure never pick up the full benefit. Imagine London today, the most powerful form of transport is high-speed rail”.

Furthermore, multi-billion pound plans will be announced today and is said that an extra 185,000 people to travel on the railways by increasing the number of train carriages for popular routes.
