Hezbollah has emerged from the aftermath of the 2006 conflict better equipped, has more finance, and is more confident than ever, posing a new threat to Israel according to new intelligence reports from the UN and Israel.
Despite 1191 Lebanese being killed by the Israeli IDF Hezbollah emerged as the victor in the 2006 conflict (according to it own propaganda) is now boasting an arsenal of 40,000 rockets all able to challenge Israel’s supremacy in the skies over Lebanon.
The range of the ground-to-ground missiles would easily permit hits on Tel Aviv, with Hezbollah troops all believed to have been trained in Iran to use the weapons effectively.
The Times has reported that Israeli senior commanders regard the situation on the Israeli-Lebanon border as capable of exploding at "any minute".
The leader of Hezbollah the "pop star" like Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has issued a stern warning to Israel that if any southern Beirut suburbs are hit in the same fashion as in 2006 he would strike back against Tel Aviv without "hesitation".
Evidence has emerged that Hezbollah has violated UN resolution 1701 which clearly stated:
"1. Calls for a full cessation of hostilities based upon, in particular, the immediate cessation by Hizbollah of all attacks and the immediate cessation by Israel of all offensive military operations;
“2. Upon full cessation of hostilities, calls upon the Government of Lebanon and UNIFIL as authorized by paragraph 11 to deploy their forces together throughout the South and calls upon the Government of Israel, as that deployment begins, to withdraw all of its forces from southern Lebanon in parallel;”
UNIFIL high command has revealed that in the Lebanese village of Khirbit Slim (12 miles from the Israeli border) an ammunitions depot exploded revealing that Hezbollah was stock piling missiles.
With plans to attack Iran already well in place and well documented in the London Daily News the Iranian government's only effective defence against the nuclear armed Israeli war machine is to use ally Hezbollah and hit Israel in its residential areas. Iran is believed along with Syria providing continual training of Hezbollah troops on the use of SA8 mobile missile launchers and missile systems.
