A man threatening to blow himself up inside Heathrow Terminal 5 led to a partial closure of the terminal building, the incident has now been resolved according to BAA owners of Heathrow.

BAA in a statement said:
"The police incident that caused the partial evacuation of Terminal 5 has been stood down.  We will reopen the airport to passengers as soon as airline and airport are back in position.  We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers while police attended this security incident."

The London Heathrow airport complex was been partially evacuated after the discovery of a suspect package, owner BAA said in an unrelated incident.

The bomb alert was limited to the departures area of Heathrow’s Terminal 5 according to a BAA press officer speaking to the media.
