Heathrow still growing, despite strikes

- Air traffic grows at Heathrow "largest rise in two and a half years".

Heathrow has seen 5.2 million passengers in March, 0.4 per cent increase on the same month last year.  BAA the airports operator said that if the British Airways strike had not taken place, passenger numbers would have grown by 1 per cent in March and "Heathrow would have recorded growth of 3.8 per cent in the same period".

BAA said that in total, air traffic at Heathrow grew in the first three months 1.6 per cent to 14.6 million passengers with February recording the largest rise in two and a half years.
