Gunboats from Israel seen on Palestinian coasts with heavily armed soldiers invading Gaza, "IDF invasion just beginning" - IDF

Over 30 targets in Palestine have been hit by Israeli jets, with 180 confirmed fatalities, with a Hamas spokesman saying to Press TV "Israel will pay a heavy price".

Over 800 Palestinians have been seriously wounded in the attacks on Palestine with an American academic in Beirut calling for the "sleeping Arab world" to wake up and Egypt to tear down the walls in Rafa.

President elect Obama has been reportedly "woken up" and given a briefing of the IDF attacks.

IDF sources indicate that a "widespread invasion" will take place across Palestine with many more people on both sides killed.

Tim Marshall of Sky News indicated that the IDF had been preparing this invasion for some time, following Hamas continual firing of missiles at border towns in Israel like Ashkelon.

There will also be some concern in London and other capitals of Western Europe, given the large Muslim populations that are affected by these acts.  There has been no formal response from the British Government following the IDF attacks on Palestine.
