Police have revealed more details into the young boy who fell to his death from a block of flats in Hackney.

The lad fell from the seventh floor of a thirteen story high building on Paragon Road around 4pm yesterday.

Masked gang chased him

Police believe he was chased by a group of masked youths and climbed on the outside of the building to escape them.

The boy scaled down six floors but a metal grille blocked his path on the seventh, he lost his balance and fell.

Boy 'spooked'

It seems the victim and his friends were spooked when they spotted a gang of youths cycling towards the tower block and became separated.

No arrests have been made. Investigating officer Det Ch Insp Ian Stevenson called it a tragic and unnecessary death.
