GLADE FESTIVAL has been forced to cancel their annual event in Berkshire due to an unexpected forced increase in security and advanced ticket sales below expectations.

Thousands of paid ticket holders, all expecting a great event are now undoubtedly despondent at missing one of the great summer festivals, so another has come to the rescue.

The Big Chill Festival has a great history of supporting other festivals and has offered all Glade Festival ticket holders, who have bought their pass via Ticketline the opportunity to swap their ticket for a weekend pass to this year’s Big Chill. Last year Big Chill offered a similar deal to all Big Green Gathering ticket holders.

Any festival goers who purchased full price Glade Festival tickets via Ticketline for £135, can contact Ticketline requesting to swap their Glade ticket for an Adult Weekend Big Chill ticket.  Glade ticket holders will be charged an additional transaction fee of £7 per ticket swapped, meaning that they will get a Big Chill ticket usually costing £155 plus a £7 booking fee for a total of £142, saving them £20.

Glade appealing line up

With this year’s Big Chill Festival line-up including the likes of Massive Attack, M.I.A., Kelis, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Plan B, Roots Manuva, Layo and Bushwacka!, Magnetic Man, High Contrast, Skream and Benga  there is a great dance line-up that will appeal to all Glade Festival lovers as well as much more.

Big Chill is one of the longest standing festivals in the UK and embarks on its 16th year with a superb combination of great music programming, arts, film, relaxation and an undeniably carnival experience. With Spencer Tunick calling on all Big Chillers to disrobe in the name of art, Glade Chillers will be given a first hand experience of all that is Big Chill.

Melvin Benn of Festival Republic & The Big Chill said:

"Glade Festival called us for help, knowing we'd managed a successful partnership with Big Green Gathering last year. At Big Chill we are all saddened to hear the news that Glade Festival has been forced to cancel this year, but are delighted to help festival goers with the opportunity to sample our brilliant event. I firmly believe the ethos of Big Chill translates directly to the Glade audience and I am sure that all those coming will have the time of their lives!"

Since its early beginnings in 1994 The Big Chill has set a tone and a standard with the creation of ‘Boutique Festivals’.  Many have followed, but The Big Chill started it and maintains pole position.  I have been a regular visitor to The Big Chill during that 15 years and it is with massive delight that I am now able to take it forward with Katrina and my Festival Republic Team.  And take it forward we will.

Musically unique among festivals but diverse in its offering, The Big Chill stands alone in not relying on guitar bands in the crowded boutique market and nowhere else presents art like Katrina does at The Big Chill.  Our inclusion of Spencer Tunick is testament to that. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend at Eastnor."
