A teenage girl is in a specialist burns unit today after being set alight by a twisted love rival in Eltham.

The 15-year-old was sprayed with a liquid and set on fire receiving serious burns to her face and upper body, on Sunday.

Neighbour heard screams

Neighbors heard the 'chilling' screams and rushed into the streets throwing a blanket over the terrified girl engulfed in flames.

The victim, Lucy Goldsmith was airlifted to hospital and is in a serious condition.

Girl Charged

It's believed a jealous girl had wrongly thought Lucy had kissed her boyfriend and then attacked her as she was walking to the shops with friends.

Georgina Clarke-Webber, 19, of Churchbury Road, Plumstead, south east London, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

Ms Clarke-Webber will appear before Woolwich Magistrates' Court today.

DNA to identify Spain air tragedy victims
DNA tests will be needed to identify many of the 153 people killed in a Spanish plane crash, officials say. Authorities say many victims were so badly burned that fingerprint and other identification will be impossible. The crash of flight JK5022 at Madrid's Barajas Airport on Wednesday is Spain's worst air disaster in decades.
