Gaza and the IDF circle of violence

EDITORIAL

As most of London is more interested in what bargains are available at the shops the "real world" is now waking up to the potential that the actions of the Israelis in Gaza, (which is a full blown invasion) will lead to very serious consequences for London and the world.

In London we lost innocent people who had nothing to do with the troubles in the Middle East in 2005 during the bombings in Tavistock Square and the tube, and other botched attempts; all aimed at avenging the actions of the West in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan.

In just three days 310 Palestinians have been killed by the IDF and London's large Arab and Muslim community are up in arms.

But the most concerning pattern is that the Arabs are so disunited and Arab leaders cannot even agree on a summit to debate the crisis.  Israel again wins the territorial and military campaign, with overwhelming force faced with  little or no Palestinian resistance.

What needs to happen is the "Obama White House" to pressure Israel into a ceasefire that will allow time for dialogue with the Arabs.  The Arabs must accept the right of Israel to exist but the Arabs must pressurize Hamas and Hezbollah to stop rocket attacks into Israel.

What is for sure is that the world is sleep-walking into a global crisis at a time when the global economy has come to a halt and the West is being battered in Iraq and Afghanistan.
