CCTV footage released in female bus driver assault
Officers from the joint Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London Safer Transport Command Workplace Violence Unit, investigating an assault on a female bus driver in Camden, have today released footage of the attack.
The footage shows the suspect punching the driver in the face, after he was told he could not board the bus.
The incident occurred on Monday, 10 January at about 1900hrs, on board a route 59 bus, which was stationary at Euston Bus Station - situated at the junction of Euston Road and Eversholt Street, NW1.
Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found the victim, who's face was covered in blood.
She was taken by LAS to University College Hospital and discharged later that evening.
The suspect is described as male, with short dark hair, wearing a dark padded jacket and denim trousers.
The ethnicity of the man is not known, but he may have spoken with a foreign accent.
Detective Constable Andy Barnard, investigating officer said: "This was a totally un-provoked attack and it is important that we hear from anyone who saw the incident take place. Euston would have been busy with commuters and the bus was full with passengers who may have seen the incident. We are appealing for anyone who recognises this man or knows of his whereabouts to contact us. We believe he may have been travelling towards Streatham."
Anyone with information is urged to contact DC Andy Barnard leading the investigation for the Workplace Violence Unit on 020 3054 5406 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
