Fighter jets seen over north London skies

Fighter jets have been seen flying low over the skies of north London a day before the tenth anniversary of the Al Qaida attack on the World Trade Centre on New York.

Many thousands of people have gone onto twitter to express their concerns that London may be under attack or the security services are aware of imminent danger.

The current threat level from international terrorism for the UK is assessed as SUBSTANTIAL according to MI5.

SEVERE means that a terrorist attack is highly likely; SUBSTANTIAL that an attack is a strong possibility.

In New York 3 suspected terrorists are being hunted down in an attempted plot to blow up bridges and tunnels.

They are not fighters. The large plane is probably a BAe 146, smaller ones may be BAe 125, may be from 32 Squadron (formerly Queen's Flight).
