Boy George who is today the favourite son of millions of Greek Orthodox Christians around the world, following his gesture to return a stolen icon of Christ is pictured inside the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Anagyre in Highgate after handing over the icon of Christ.

Speaking to the London Daily News Boy George said:

"I have been around Cypriots all my life, but I never knew the church of Saint Anagyre existed so near to my home".

The committee of Saint Anagyre will be formally inviting Boy George and his family to the church's name day on 1 July to be guest of honour, following the conclusion of discussions between Boy George and Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis the Church of Cyprus Representative in Brussels.

John Kaponi the media spokesman for the Church of Cyprus representation for the European Union and secretary of the Saint Anagyre church said:

"Boy George has made us all extremely proud and to be honest very emotional, I hugged George and held him by his arm to show him our church and I kept telling him how important it was for him to return this icon of Christ to Cyprus".

"John Themis must also be thanked for working with our team to impress upon George the spirtual value of the icon to Cyprus".

Plans are in place for Boy George and John Themis to make a visit to Cyprus to meet the representatives of the Church of Cyprus and Government of the Republic of Cyprus in the near future.

Saint Angyre in Highgate was the nearest Greek Orthodox church to Boy George who lives in Hampstead.

We would like to thank Boy George for his right and meaningful proper gesture of giving back the 300 year old icon of Christ to the rightful owners the Cyprus Church . We would also like to remind many others EU Citizens who buy many other stolen icons ,mosaics, and ancient Greek art effects vases and other art effects from fraudulent art dealers who make money buying houses and properties belonging to the uprooted 200,000 EU Greek Cypriot Citizens . It is really a shame and wrongful act, to buy something which belongs to someone else's culture, which has been enslaved and looted. Once more we like to thank boy George for the right decision to return the Icon to Cyprus 's Church. We wish and hope ,the British Museum Authorities consider Boy George 's example and return to Greece the so called " Elgin Marbles" statues, sculptures "Kariatides" butchered and stolen from Parthenon ,fortunately the Culture of any country it is protected by UNESCO and belongs to the country and people of origin and not to anybody else.
