England won by 7 wickets in today’s Twenty20 semifinals against New Zeeland in Delhi.
Jason Roy and his amazing innings of 78 brought England in the final of the World Twenty20. The team will play in Sunday’s final against West Indies or India in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The game was very interactive, with Roy bludgeoning four boundaries from Corey Anderson. Together with Joe Root, he managed to keep the scoreboard ticking.
The victory against the previously unbeaten New Zeland was brought by Roy’s 44-ball 78 who managed to lead the team to success with 17 ball to spare.
Jos Buttler confirmed the favorable result by seven wickets when he completed a runout by smashing three sixes in the last 4 balls.
The bowlers played a major role in the game as they kept New Zeland to 20 runs.
This success comes after England women were defeated by Australian women by 5 runs earlier today.
