Enfield cops face misconduct charges

The Metropolitan Police Service has served misconduct allegations on two officers, originally from Enfield Crime Squad, in relation to an incident on 13 May 2008, when it is alleged they seized a car and subsequently misused it.

The officers have been informed they will go before a misconduct hearing on 1 August 2011.

Both officers face allegations of discreditable conduct regarding the use of a vehicle seized by police.

Today's misconduct allegations follow an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) supervised investigation.

As this and other misconduct processes relating to linked investigations have not been concluded it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.
