Edmonton is a disgrace, why are shootings and stabbings a "norm"

Calls by the local Edmonton Green community plagued by knife and gun crime, are now demanding a "substantial" police presence, on the day the details of a horrific stabbing on Monday afternoon are emerging.

Leading the calls for a stronger and more substantial police presence is the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Edmonton Andy Charalambous who said:

"Edmonton needs zero tolerance approach on crime; we need this in parts of Edmonton Green and the east parts of the area that is known as "shank town". Speaking to local residents we need more CCTV in the areas installed, a girl gang beat the living daylights out of a local girl only last week.”

“I did my own research in the area where the stabbing took place, we need visible policing, with the local police based minutes away from Edmonton Green. We need bobby's on the beat, armed policing on the streets is not needed we need presence”.

Edmonton has become an area blighted by serious crime with calls now for the police and the local authority Enfield Council to start reclaiming the streets and enforcing a much more rigorous and stricter approach to crime prevention in the area.
