MAYFAIR’S dining tables have long championed luxurious elegance and sumptuous chic, but for those looking for something a bit more exotic, experience the magic of Mamounia Lounge.

After being guided past diners smoking shisha at ornate brass tables sprinkled delicately outside - their shoulders considerately covered with Bedouin blankets - the evocative entrance stirs all the senses, providing a glowing warmth that instantly transports you from London’s chill to the charm of Marrakech.

Raw silk cushions have been colourfully scattered around low-level seating and velvet pillars with dimmed lighting, candles and delectable aromas creating an opulent ambiance ideal for chic laidback lunches and exotic evenings.

The diverse menu serves traditional Moroccan, Lebanese and Mediterranean meals such as fattoush, hoummos kawarmah with diced lamb & pine nuts, savoury pastries encasing chicken with almond and cinnamon and assorted slow-cooked tagines served with couscous.

An interesting range of fusion dishes satisfy those in search of something new and to drink, check out the exceptional Lebanese wines or the extensive range of cocktails for something more lively with an understated kick.

As well as business lunches, small meetings or leisurely meals, Mamounia can cater for larger events, from launch parties and cocktail receptions to fashion shows, film premieres and private parties for up to 350 people. The main restaurant is located under the lounge area & seats up to 80 guests, while two interconnected VIP rooms are also available.

Regular diners have enthused about the live music, wild nights with belly dancers and the lively, hedonistic atmosphere – but beware a minimum £50 spend per person, Friday & Saturday from 21.00.
