Chelsea’s Diego Costa is banned to three games instead of two after his case was examined by an independent regulatory commission. He will miss the match at Swansea City scheduled on 9 April.

He was accused of inappropriate behaviour after receiving a red card at Everton: he had bitten Barry and displayed offensive gestures towards Everton supporters. Costa received two yellow cards and this outraged the football player. The second yellow card was received after a clash with the midfielder Gareth Barry.

His reluctance to leave the pitch grant him a £20,000 fine, a further ban and a warning. This is Costa’s second red card of the season.
