International Desk - VIDEO OF ATTACKS

Hamas officials have confirmed to international news organisations that Israeli jets have fired at will Hamas police and security targets, killing 120 people and 300 seriously  injured.

Chaotic scenes are being shown in central and northern Gaza, in the latest attacks by the IDF on the Palestinian territories.

Israeli military officials warned Hamas that any attacks on Israel would be responded to with a firm response.

Apparently 30 missiles were fired by the Israelis on Palestinian targets, with more reports of attacks from Palestinian sources being reported.

The IDF is responding to the firing of seven homemade rockets and three mortar shells at towns in southern Israel killing two Palestinian girls and injuring Israelis.

The PRC military wing of Hamas said in a leaflet sent to reporters by fax that its militants fired seven makeshift rockets and three mortars at southern Israeli towns in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip,

Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who arrived in Cairo last Thursday to meet with Egyptian leaders, said that Israel can never stay silent for the rockets attacks carried out from Gaza on its territories.

Speaking to the New York Times Israeli Cabinet Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said about Hamas:

"It is a leadership that has turned schoolyards into rocket-launching pads. This is a leadership that does not care that the blood of its people will run in the streets."

Israeli defense officials say a large-scale incursion into the Palestinian territory - seized by Hamas last year - has been approved.

Egyptian officials according to a report in a London based Arab paper gave their approval to a limited Israeli invasion into Gaza to remove Hamas.
