Subject: The Blog

Hey John, I'm loving the new thelondondailyblog.blogspot.com, but can't seem to find a link to it on this site. It is part of the website, I take it? Good feature for when I need a quick skim of the bulletins!

Found your site whilst looking at Google News. The Articel about South Central is so inaccurate it's laughable. Southern haven't lost a franchise, it was coming to the end , and like all contracts will be relet. GoVia (parent company of Southern) will rebid with others. It's not difficult to check the facts, and therefore, not doing so is really inexcusable

Subject: Child Poverty

Dear Sir, 2008 is a vital year for children in poverty. Your recent article http://www.thelondondailynews.com/study-capital-reveals-%C2%A3220-billion-pounds-economy-p-910.html and the “Focus on London 2008” report has highlighted once again the vast and unacceptable numbers of children living in poverty in London. We welcome Boris Johnson’s commitment to “improve the quality of life in this city for all Londoners” with over half the children in Inner London currently living in poverty it is crucial that tackling child poverty is a priority for the new Mayor. We are also putting renewed and improved resources into helping reduce child poverty in London. Within a month we will be launching the “End Child Poverty London project” which will aim to tackle the specific challenges London faces in ending child poverty, through strengthening activities tackling child poverty in London and increasing awareness and campaigning on the issue. The Government has made a promise to halve child poverty by 2010 and eradicate it by 2020. With your support, we can ensure that they keep this promise of a generation. So we hope your readers will join us on October 4th in London where we are holding the UK’s biggest ever action on Child Poverty, together we can ensure a better future for London’s children. To find out more about the event visit www.endchildpoverty.org.uk . Regards Gemma Tumelty and Liz Thorne London Child Poverty Project Co-ordinators. End Child Poverty

Subject: How long for print?

I regard the London Daily News the way forward for the news media in London. I no longer take the Evening Standard, and find most of the free papers a total waste of paper and an annoyance. I keep upto date on my Blackberry with the RSS feeds and believe within a year this platform will challenge the serious players within the London media village.

Subject: The Daily News

Hi, i have browsing the internet to find out about a picture i have of the old Daily news offices in High Street Islinton, London between the years 1850'odds to 1910.. It shows a sunset picture of the old offices of J Davey and Co with horse and carts in the street and a picture of what i think of Big Ben in the background, I have become very interested in it and wandered if you maybe had some info about the picture which is over 100 years old... The old offices were in 80 High Street but i'd like to know more if you could help..

Letter from Jack,

Subject: Crime is colour blind

Perhaps the writer is colour blind and living on another planet, there is no doubt most gun and knife crime in London is commited by black youths, they also cause most of the disruption on Londons busses. If the police actually targetted black youth and the single parent family parents many come from then perhaps we'd live in a safer city. trying to show 2 non black crimes and claiming crimes colour blind is nonsense
