Crow claims last minute deal collapsed, allegations Mayor's office refused to approve agreement

Bob Crow the leader of the RMT has claimed that at 6:15pm a "deal was ready to be typed up" when someone from City Hall crashed the deal.
In an interview to BBC London this evening to presenter Big George Webley Crow was scathing of the failure of Mayor Johnson to meet the RMT and iron out a last minute deal.
At times in a heated exchange with BBC presenter Big George Webley Bob Crow was pressed on whether it was justified to demand a 5% per cent increase in pay for his members when 1600 workers had just lost their jobs at Cheltenham and Gloucester. "We agreed a pay deal at the rpi levels two years ago and that is the deal I want for my members".
Crow alleged that the management of London Underground was prepared to do a deal but required ratification from either Mayor Johnson or Peter Hendy the Transport Commissioner. The deal which agreed according to Crow a package that would work for both sides was "not typed up" and strike action is now to run for 48 hours.
The cost to London for not having a functioning tube will be around £100 million, with around 80 per cent of London Underground affected by the strike.
