Police in Haringey continue to appeal for information to help identify a man found with injuries in the grounds of Alexandra Palace on Wednesday, 5 January.

Officers were called at 1116hrs to Alexandra Palace Way near the junction with Muswell Hill N10 to assist after a member of the public found a man lying on the ground with serious head injuries.

The man was taken by LAS to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the man, who is believed to be aged in his 60s. The man is described as approx 5ft 8inches-5ft 10inches in height, with grey balding hair and a white/grey beard. He was wearing a dark green blazer with a blue fleece underneath, black trousers, brown boots and a chequered flat cap.

The man was found in possession of over £700 in cash.

It is not currently known how long the man had been lying on the floor prior to being found or how or where he received his injuries.

DS Stuart Robinson of Haringey CID said: "The man had no identification on him and, as yet, no one has come forward to identify him, so we are appealing to the public to call us with any information which may help us. This man may have family and friends who are desperately worried about his welfare and we need to trace them urgently.

"We also need to speak with anyone that was in the area on the morning of Wednesday, 5 January before 11:15am, particularly those who waited with the injured man until the arrival of the ambulance but left before speaking with officers. They may be able to tell us something that could help us piece together how this man came to sustain his injuries."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Stuart Robinson on 020 8345 0838. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

At this stage, officers are keeping an open mind as to how the man came to receive his injuries.
