Early indications are showing that Labour are already accepting that the Conservative Party will form a majority government with former Home Secretary David Blunkett on LBC saying that the party should have a "dignified renewal" and that the Labour party should not emulate the 1992 scenario of waiting until 6am to accept defeat.

The London Daily News has also learnt that voters in London have voted en masse, with turnouts over 70% in areas of the capital, a record turnout for any type of election in recent years.

Labour however are still not "down and out", with rumours from Enfield that the council may fall to Labour hands, with the parliamentary seats of Enfield Southgate and Enfield expected to go blue, but Edmonton remaining red despite a spirited fight by Kojak-lookalike Andrew Charalambous.

Results are still coming in, and there is still a "mixed picture" for the Conservatives wanting to form a government.
