Conor McGregor surprised his fans with a retirement tweet

Conor McGregor abandoned the rematch with Nate Diaz. Hours after he informed his fans that he wanted to retire at a young age, UFC declared that the mixed martial artist refused to engage in promotional activities. 

Dana White, the UFC president, announced that the fighter will no longer face Nate Diaz in the Las Vegas fight. The decision was taken based on the tweet posted by McGregor on his Twitter account:

As there was no follow-up message and McGregor refused to promote the upcoming fight with Diaz, the announcement is most likely to be genuine.

Nate Diaz does not seem to take the shocking tweet seriously, and posted a reply on his Twitter account:
