Chelsea have been charged by the FA over a member of staff using racist language as a fight broke out after last seasons clash with Manchester United. Groundsman Sam Bethell and United defender Patrice Evra were pictured squaring up pitch to each other following the London's side 2-1 win in April. Bethell was snapped with his fist clenched and pulled back ready to strike after allegedly using racist or abusive language The Frenchman and Chelsea will attend a Football Association hearing today. Evra and some of the United squad were warming down on the on the Stamford Bridge pitch when Bethell told them to get off the field - under FA rules the away team are permitted to warm down after a match. Something was said and a tussle broke out with players and Chelsea officials streaming onto the pitch. The defender is charged with improper conduct by the FA and has requested a personal hearing. Chelsea is charged with breaching FA rules in relation to Bethell's conduct. Officials from both clubs will attend the FA's regulatory commission separately over the next two days. An independent commission originally charged Bethnal over the incident but as Chelsea did not tell him he was subject to FA rules they decided to charge the club instead with "failure to include the required provisions in his employment contract". Bethell had been charged with improper conduct and using abusive language aggravated by reference to nationality and or race. The Stamford Bridge club are also charged with, "failing to ensure that Bethell conducted himself in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from any one or a combination of racist and/or abusive and/or provocative conduct and/or language". Drogba, 30, in his first game back from injury also gave the crowd 'the finger' before chucking a coin back into the Burnley section of the crowd. He immediately received a yellow card from referee Keith Stroud.
