This year’s Champion’s League semi-final comes with two major clashes: Manchester City vs. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid vs. Bayern Munich.
Manuel Pellegrini declared that the team is going to have a difficult time in the match against Real Madrid. The first confrontation will be held at the Etihad Stadium on April 26th while the return game on May 4th at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The manager of Manchester City added that both Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid are strong opponents, making the draw difficult in any combination. With a previous experience of the semi-finals in 2006, when he took Villarreal to this stage, Pellegrini said “Always the motivation to play the semi-final is unbelievable. I always prefer to finish at home but that is not the most important thing.”
Real is currently four points behind Barcelona, with six matches left in La Liga. The main threat for Manchester City is Christiano Ronaldo, who played a significant role in the victory over Wolfsburg.
City meets Chelsea today in the Premier League. Both Vincent Kompany and David Silva won’t be part of the squad due to injuries.
