Editorial London is not a happy place folks. Winter has already started to blow its chill winds across the capital, with the cost of living in the capital rising, job losses on the horizon and a simmering problem with migrant labour that is sowing the seeds of deep social problems.
In a matter of day’s areas of London resembled Gaza and the scenes we have been used to seeing in Iraq; the police and Government both unable and incapable to intervene and implement law and order. Now we read of the ongoing criminal prosecutions of rioters and the harsh sentences being passed down by judges. All meant to display that the authorities have a "grip" on things. It’s a little late.
What happens when these rioters come out of prison, into a London with much less hope for employment, and perhaps better suited if you want to pursue a career as a professional criminal?
Our roads are continuously congested, despite the congestion zone, which was meant to reduce traffic in central London. Schools and hospitals are facing unprecedented demands, with less money and higher demand all created by the levels of immigration to London from across the EU and other parts of the world. John Cleese recently said London is not an English city, well given that man a PhD. Of course London is not an English city any more. Learn to speak Turkish, Polish or Arabic to fit fellow Londoners.
Immigration ultimately exists because the "indigenous" population do not have the backbone to open shops up 24 hours a day like the Turkish/ Kurdish community have done in parts of north London. Without the Poles much of the construction in London would not be as economic, have you tried employing an English chippy recently?
What we need now is not to tolerate everything being thrown at us by the "new intake". If you come to work and live in London, you should follow the customs and laws i.e. learn to speak English, little things like not talking loudly on the tube in the morning. Moreover we want more active positive impulses in London, not mercenaries who come and screw the welfare system, work in the black economy and then go back to their home country after having caused havoc here.
