Cricklewood salsa school keeps producing champions

Cricklewood is becoming a hub of champions in the salsa world, celebrating news that two students from the renowned "Salsa Libre dance school" have scooped prestious top amateur national titles in Bolton.
George Antonis and Lucy Starling won the British UKA Open Amateur Salsa Championships 2011, making this the third year in a row that the winners have come from the Cricklewood based salsa school. This year saw the biggest and best salsa schools around the country and abroad enter around 30 entrants in various dance divisions with the top amateur title going again to Cricklewood students.
Choreographer and teacher Azari said “With a little help from friends and loved ones, the pair had put in a tremendous amount of effort and a lot of hard work to take the title this year and I couldn’t have asked for any more from them. George was focused on the task ahead intensely and Lucy’s ferocious charisma and joy helped take the pair over the finishing line first. I can’t congratulate or be more happy for them than I already am”.
There’s clearly something in the water in Cricklewood as the Amateur Pairs national success follows on from the popular show victory of celebrity Kara Tointon of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, who had been training for some the show at the Virgin Gym in Cricklewood.Azari, himself a former World Amateur Champion (Miami), has been running his small but friendly salsa school in Cricklewood for several years now and hopes that this success will encourage more people to come out and dance, especially if it’s for fun and good heath.
