The Mayor Of London Boris Johnson has accused members of the coalition of acting like "adolescents" following a renewed war of words between the City Hall and members of the coalition. Vince Cable the Business secretary made in a recent outburst said City Hall should engage in negotiations in talks with the RMT, the tube drivers union, to avert further strikes on the London underground.
Sources close to Vince Cable have called for Mayor Johnson to "reach out" to the unions and stop making threats to change legislation that could make strikes illegal on the underground.
City Hall has been criticised for not being decisive over talks with the unions with the coalition government increasingly blaming the intransigence of Mayor Johnson stance in refusing to engage with unions, as a reason for the stalemate.
The Daily Telegraph in a report has said that attacks from Lib Dems on Mayor Johnson are believed by the Mayors team to have been "sanctioned by the top of the Government".
City Hall has said that talks would take place with the unions if the threat of strike action is removed by the RMT.
