Mayor Johnson acted swiftly in the Clements credit card scandal proving he can make decisions to remove "problematic" colleagues in order to maintain a steady ship.

But the number of problems that Mayor Johnson has faced in his first year has been unprecedented with some actions being dealt with effectively some causing Londoners to question Mayor Johnson abilities.

The new ethos at City Hall and across London should be in a recession individuals on £100k salaries should not be using City Hall credit cards to pay for lunches with their girlfriends.

Clements should have been sacked and it should send a signal to all councillors and Assembly Members that the expenses issues has now spread its tentacles into every area of elected office.

The mood at City Hall according to sources is now one of business as usual with Mayor Johnson determined to limit the damage the Clements scandal may have on his administration.

Afterall Mayor Johnson has to oversee the completion of critical projects in his term and the 2012 Olympics projects.
