The government obtained a High Court injunction on Wednesday to prevent any sales of the book "Terrorist Hunters" by Andy Hayman the Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations at Scotland Yard during the 7/7 bombings, The Times reports, "the legal reasons for seeking the injunction cannot be disclosed".

In the book which was serialised in The Times written by Andy Hayman condemned the lack of a public inquiry into the 7/7 terrorist attack and was highly critical of "Cobra" the Governments emergency committee claiming it did not act operational matters effectively.

Sir Paul Stephenson is reported to have been annoyed that Andy Hayman could publish such a book without him having "prior viewing" of the book, and also questions whether it is good conduct for commissioners of the Met to be publishing such books.

A full High Court hearing is expected next week on the matter.
