Barnet councillors walk for life

Generosity knows no limits for a group of local councillor's from  Barnet. A sponsored walk organised on 12 July by the Brunswick Park Ward Safer Neighbourhood Police led by Sergeant Simon Dawson saw Conservative councillors Lynne Hillan, Lisa Rutter, Andreas Tambourides and East Barnet Councillor Joanna Tambourides, all walk in aid of the Children’s Ward of Barnet Hospital.

The members of the two teams were Ward Councillors Lynne Hillan, Lisa Rutter, Andreas Tambourides and East Barnet Councillor Joanna Tambourides, PS Simon Dawson and PCSO Stuart Thompson...

The walk started from Whetstone Police station at 1pm on Saturday 12th July 2008 and the Ward Councillors team walked clockwise around the outskirts of the Ward, whilst Brunswick SNT walked anti – clockwise covering a distance of 9 miles in just over two hours.

Sergeant Dawson commenting after the event said:

“We are very pleased to have raised this magnificent amount of money for the children’s ward at Barnet Hospital and we would like to thank the shops and businesses of Brunswick Park Ward and many others for their generosity and support”.

Cllr Andreas Tambourides, and former Mayor of Barnet said that “we had a very healthy exercise walking 9 miles for a very worthwhile cause”.
