BNP banned from tabling question at City Hall

Richard Barnbrook Assembly Member for the BNP has been deemed to be in breach of rule 2.1.11 of the City Hall code of conduct and has been alleged to bring the City Hall question time into disrepute, and was banned from being filmed, only audio was allowed.

On a question related to the Notting Hill Carnival the BNP Assembly Member who wants to ban the carnival said:

"Following a rise of 95 per cent in crime and £6 million spent on policing the event, the organisers have shown the community  they cannot put on a safe carnival".

The BNP tabled a motion to ban the carnival from London.

"The three St George Day events I have attended have never cost this much money and this much trouble" - Richard Sandbrook.

"This Notting Hill Carnival does not give a good face for London" - Richard Barnbrook.

The Mayor refused to answer questions from the BNP on the Carnival.

Israeli President Shimon Peres asked Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, head of the Kadima party, to form a new government Monday. The move comes a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert handed in his resignation. Olmert will remain interim prime minister until a successor assumes power.
