Six men have been arrested following a mass brawl that resulted in a man being stabbed on the Daltons Kingsland Road this evening.

According to police at the scene, at around 3pm a 22-year-old man was walking along the busy high street and was surrounded by a group of youths who then produced a blade and knifed him.

He is currently recovering in hospital.

The area opposite Dalston Kingsland station has been cordoned off - there were numerous squad cars on the scene which is meters away from a police station on Colvestone Crescent that is also inside the Kingsland Shopping Centre.

There are many CCTV cameras in the area and officers were engaged in a frantic search across Hackney, Shoreditch, Stoke Newington and Newington Green to catch the suspects.

Today, an 18-year-old man became the first teen to die violently on London's streets after he was attacked in Bow.

Dalston gang fatalities

Two gangs, the Holly Street Boys and The DNA Boys, made up of mainly Turkish youths, have repeatedly clashed with deadly consequences.

In November a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death by Church Street, in April a 17-year-old boy was left fighting for his life after being knifed in a mass gang brawl on Stoke Newington High Street.
