Anthony Crolla defended his WBA title in an epic match

Anthony Crolla defeated Ismael Barroso and retained his WBA lightweight title by displaying a powerful defence.

The game started with an attack from Barroso, but Crolla managed to pack some powerful punches and claim the victory by stoppage after only seven rounds.

This is Crolla’s 31st victory out of 38 professional bouts. He declared after the match that he was sure about the victory. He was also motivated by the fact that the fight was held in Manchester, his hometown.

The other important match of the weekend between Amir Khan and Saul Alvarez finished with a brutal knockout that put the British fighter to the floor. Khan was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Khan posted on his Twitter page the following message for his supporters:
