The fact that two fat blokes from north London amused an entire nation currently in the grips of one of the worse economic recessions in recent memory should serve to highlight that humour can be the antidote to many things.
Indeed that humour was translated in the father-son act aka "Stavros Flatley" reaching the final of "Britain’s Got Talent" and nearly did a Greece in 2004 and "stole" the prize from the favourites Susan Boyle and Diversity.
Well it did not happen, the Greeks came fourth according to the votes cast, but the result has greater implications for this nation.
Firstly we need more humour; more comedy something to allow us to forget the mundane and the painful experiences we as a nation are experiencing everyday with the MP expenses scandal, the recession, crime in London and yes this terrible Labour government and this terrible Prime Minister.
Maybe we should all learn to spend more time with our son or daughter and do something that is funny and meaningful with them? Surely life cannot just be about work and debts?
Well done Laki and Aki you showed an entire nation currently in the depths of the worse crisis in recent memory what is important, family, Greek humour and love!
