POLICE ARE offering a £20,000 reward a year on from the murder of Nathan Williams in New Cross.

Nathan Williams, 24, from Kennington, died after he was shot several times in Ludwick Mews, SE14 on 28 July 2009.

Police were called at about 01.30hrs to reports of shots fired, and on arrival discovered Nathan in a VW Golf with serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to KingsCollegeHospital, but died later that night from his wounds.

Witnesses stated that four males may have been involved in Nathan's death but so far police have only arrested one man who was later released with no further action.

On the one year anniversary of Nathan's death, Trident are offering a £20,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person responsible.

Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Allison from Trident, who is leading the investigation, said: "It's now a year on from Nathan's murder and we believe that the local community hold the answers as to who did this.

"This was a brutal execution of a young man and those who did this should not be tolerated by the community - if you have information I would urge you to come forward and work with police, who can protect your identity. Nathan's family deserve justice for their loss and the community deserve to live without fear of those who commit these terrible crimes."

Officers will be in and around Ludwick Mews tonight after 19.00hrs handing out appeal leaflets and talking to the local community.

On 6 October 2009 a man [A - 25 ys] was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a south London police station - later bailed to return on 27 April and subsequently released without further action.
